My family loves to go to Norway each winter to enjoy the snow and to practice our skiing skills. Well, this year was special because Leo came with us to experience his first snow adventure. We had so much fun together. On the first day we signed him in for ski lessons together with more kids his age. He liked the idea, but when it came to the moment and he realized that he didn't understand a word of what his teacher was telling him (of course everyone was talking in Norwegian) he wanted to back out. His teacher knew English though and we just told him to do what all the other kids were doing. He resisted for some more minutes, then saw how much fun the others had and just totally forgot about us and went after them. He did an awesome job on skies. It was as if he'd been skiing for years already. On the steaper slopes my dad put a rope around his hips and this way managed to slow him down a bit. Leo was going downhill without totally fearless and quite often he got too close to some of the trees for my taste. It was all a great adventure.
He loved the classes and even more the day it started to snow. Rafa took him to Madrid in winter last year, so he had seen snow, but he had never seen how it snowed. It was so much fun seeing him throwing snow around all the time (the snow wouldn't stick to make real snowballs or a snowman, but he didn't care much) and not being afraid of anything. The last day of ski-school they organized a small competition for all kids. He did a great job and received his well earned gold medal afterwards. ;-) The organization was awesome. Every kid got his medal, some candy and oh yeah a hot dog. Well, his daddy ate his, because it was soo cold that day, that after the competition we went straight to one of the cabin-cafeterias and had a hot chocolate to warm up. Yummi!
We had a great time all together. And my parents enjoyed having Leo su much. It was fun seeing them toghether. My dad would speak German and Leo Spanish and neither one of them understands the others language but they got along so well. Aunt Ulli and her friend (the other one, as Leo called her until he could remember her name) were the coolest. He used to wake the up in the morning, running up to their room, saying good morning and "wake up" and then running back, because he felt embarrassed.
And since we all liked it a lot, Leo has decided that we should live in Norway. We love him so much!
Pictures to come soon.....
